Gossip'ized kmod as well so that we dont have 2 separate calls to printing diagnostics.
gossip for the kmod is fairly primitive and is handled simply by means of a macro in gossip.h.
Replaced and removed pvfs2_print and pvfs2_error with gossip_debug.
Edited quickstart to include comments on the new kmod debug parameters as well.

remove the 'last updated' since while we update the document, we always end up
forgetting to update the 'last updated' info.

updates to my event changes to bring them inline with trunk

merge changes from trunk since branch point into branch.  Effectively moves the branchpoint to the latest trunk.

	- You can now mount a pvfs2 voume by hand and the pvfs2 utilities will
	  find it (i.e. pvfs2 looks in /etc/fstab, /etc/pvfs2tab,
	  $PVFS2TAB_FILE, and /etc/mtab).
	- Introduce PINT_util_resolve_absolute, a routine which, in conjunction
	  with the earlier added PINT_realpath, lets pvfs2 utilities better
	  deal with relative paths
	- clean up pvfs2-rm error handling

[pcarns]: Introduce mount.pvfs2.  At the expense of an additional helper
utility, makes pvfs2 mount commands and fstab entries the same for linux-2.4
and linux-2.6.  Update documents accordingly

psfig.sty is old and Debian doesn't provide it anymore.  use epsfig.sty instead

fix some typos in the configure step. also, some dashes weren't geting
html-ified correctly ('-' instead of '--') so i gave up and stopped using them.

updating quickstart with more ROMIO information

Document how to build MPICH2 + ROMIO + PVFS2.  This process should be a lot
simpler once PVFS2 and MPICH2 have their 1.0 releases.

document kernel module build process

- minor updates regarding the kernel module build to better reflect Pete's
  latest change that builds it alongside the 'normal' build

- mention client debugging and logging options
- capitalize letter at section start

don't forget the -o to pass options to mount(1)

- minor corrections to the quickstart guide

- adjust quickstart guide on module loading
- minor cleanup

added two appendices to the quickstart guide, one describing how to run the
file system without root privledges, the other with some information about
bug reports and debugging masks

some trivial documentation fixes

update usage of pvfs2-ping (now takes -m )
